Garrett captures his first win in a late model stock car at Dillon Motor Speedway! With many friends and family in attendance, Garrett dominates the Challenger Southeast Limited Late Model Series race held in sweltering heat in Dillon, South Carolina. After qualifying 3rd, Garrett shows the skills of a veteran, being patient to take the lead. "It is great to be in Victory Lane", commented Garrett. "My car was great, my team was great and I brought this Chevy to victory lane!" Garrett captured the fan's attention and heart's as he stood on the door of his number 88. Additionally, the media grabbed the opportunity to recognize Garrett as well with articles following in Late Model Digest and others with titles such as "12 Year Old Shocks crowd at Dillon Motor Speedway." While most drivers were content to only run their scheduled race event on this hot Saturday, Garrett decided to run in the 100 lap Pro Southeast Limited Race as well. Once again, Garrett grabbed the crowd's attention by starting last in a field of 18 cars and finishing 4th. "I got to tell you I'm hot - really hot, but it is worth it to run this good.
